    New rx8 owner

Hi all, just got my hands on an rx8. Very interesting motor, I can't compare it to anything I've driven (maybe the closest a car gets to a twin sportsbike?!); it satisfies a curiosity I've had for a while and I'm looking forward to plenty of fun miles. I'm disappointed with the level (or lack of) rust proofing the car has, a lot of the former treatment (a rubber-like compound) has hardened and is flaking off, revealing primer and lots of surface rust...I hate rust. I will leave body work etc to a professional but I don't mind getting under and doing some of the lighter work. Anyone recommend a good quality underseal that can treat what remains of surface rust post sanding/wirebrushing. I see Hammerite underbody treatment, but I am suspicious of it's efficacy. Zinc primer? Lowe Rost primer? All suggestions very welcome! Bye for now, Julien

    Newbie from LK

Hi All, Just taken the plunge and bought the motor I always wanted, RX8. And I can safely say, it was worth the wait. I love it, I love it. Imported from the UK the day after Brexit. I know I could have gotten as good if not better deal here, but I liked the idea of the wide choice and the idea of a whole day of test driving 8 beasts, really good fun and a great way to get a feel for different models. Settled on a PZ in the end. Did I mention I love it. I'll be signing up for the big day in Kilkenny, hope my heart won't be broken with a Compression test, who am I kidding, I'll still love it.

    Hello from Cork

Hello Everyone, My name is Thomas and I recently came to own a 96 RX& FD3S. At first she would not start (Just a clicking sound) and after some fiddling she now turns, wont actually fire up without a bit of help (Carb cleaner) so currently have the throttle body out to give it a clean and see if the TPS needs adjusting. She was sitting around a farm yard for 18 months not covered or anything so needs a bit of cleaning. Anyway hope to chat to some more of you soon and hopefully meet some of you around the place. Thomas
