The youtube thread.

75 posts in this topic

Decided I'd start a thread for videos found on Youtube.

Amazing race car, that yellow thing in front is a Holden Torana which must have had some serious work done to it. Edit: Moved to Rotary Media forum

absolutely addicted to this guy aaron cake and his mazda rx5 cosmo restoration here's part one :D
Funny car, I just can't stand the RX5. It's style just never got me. At least it was a rotor though. Lady down the road had 1 in blue. But what was really ugly was the Cosmo Coupe L File:Mazda121left_02.jpghttp://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mazda_Cosmo

Re: The youtube thread. This is worth watching till the end.

Kouki updates of the FD3S and you can see several prototypes of how the front bumper evolved into the 99 spec. Shows also the ducting changes for the airbox / intercooler set up.

Re: The youtube thread. Enjoyed those vids. How he got the level of polish on that triple rotor in the Nissan 200 is beyond me! Loving the Mazda vid. Wish I could subtitle it!

Re: The youtube thread. If you haven't seen it already.

Wangan Midnight, it's very cheesy and borderline stupid but it has some classic Japanese performance cars in it and I even spotted an FD ;)

Re: The youtube thread. Vinyl Wrap. http://youtu.be/tYRSZilS7C4 This is pretty impressive, I like it. Anyone seen good results with vinyl wrap before? Would be a good way to protect a new paint job and allow you to go with a bit of a lairy look that could always be reversed if you get sick of it.

I wrapped my red 8 in vinyl last year Gav. viewtopic.php?f=20&t=7093 It turned out great and any scuffs, chips, knocks etc means ya just rip it off and replace the panel.

Re: The youtube thread.

Rotor vs V8
:D :-D 8) Absolutely loved that video!!! I love the description between the kinda people. Who dig V8's vs those that dig rotaries. V funny. Seen mixed results with wrapping - friends Elise matt black. Looked terrible. Admittedly it was a bad job - bubbles and tears in the vinyl. John Denning of Dennings body shop has his M3 wrapped in a matt grey and it looks very well. Quality job done on it. And I saw a White Carbon wrap (sounds dodgy but looked very well) on a Mercedes at a recent car show in swords. I suppose the motto is, like anything, if u get it done right it can look well. I wonder would it mark the paint when u peel it off?

Re: The youtube thread. My favorite TV show EVER! Japan's Retro Car Kings.

I feel like my FD just went through restoration, I love saving something from the scrap heap that can still be enjoyed. I couldn't stand the thought that my FD was going to be written off and discarded for parts. Also contains lots of S30 Fairlady Z (aka 240z) porn.
