  1. Was my engine really rebuilt?

Hi All RX8 231 PS 2003 new owner. The chap that sold me the car told me that the engine was rebuilt and I shouldn't worry about the 66K miles on the clock because only 16K were done after the engine was rebuilt... and he had a "temporary" piece of paper to demonstrate that.. Well .. I never received the actual document and that's all I have at the moment... Does anyone knows how I can check that he was telling me the truth? is there a way to spot when an engine is actually rebuilt? Thank you all ! William
