  1. Mazda RX-7 FD3S Track Car Sold Sold Sold
  2. Hi from Mazda Ireland

Welcome Charlie. As the guys said above, great to have you on here. Hopefully we can build a relationship beneficial for everyone going forward. There are lots of passionate Mazda fans here, interested in both the heritage and future of Mazda, the RX-VISION being a particular point of excitement. There are plenty fine examples of rotary machinery here that could be very useful for any PR or branding work I'm not sure but maybe you're aware of the great relationship between 'Mad' Mike Whiddett and Mazda in New Zealand. I'll include a couple of videos of his 3-Rotor Turbo RX-8 at Goodwood Festival of Speed this year and also his 4-Rotor Twin Turbo new generation MX-5 that completes in Formula Drift in the United States. Enjoy!
  3. Good man! Can you send me your number and I'll call you about pick up. Thanks.
  4. Bump, anyone have anything?
  5. Bhp or flywheel hp?

The majority of people in this part of the world quote flywheel horsepower figures. One reason being that this number is bigger than the wheel horsepower figure. Flywheel horsepower is only an estimate as the losses through the drivetrain could be 10%-15%. Americans mostly quote whp, this is an accurate number as that's where the measurement is taken.
  6. Did you get a chance to see if you have any parts?
  7. The pervious owner removed the oil metering pump from my RX7. From research and advice I want to reinstall the system. What I need to know is what exact parts I need. Parts I've figured out so far: Oil metering pump drive shaft, gear and clips Oil metering pump Oil injectors and washers Two oil lines from pump to rotor housing Oil metering pump o-ring What am I missing here? Has anyone got a full system for sale? Thanks in advance.
  8. Another vote for John@WCP. He has mapped Darren McNamara's 13b AE86, Mike Fitz's FC with very good results. He also mapped my FD which I was very happy with. He knows what he's doing and very easy to talk to and deal with.
  9. I actually rang Martin@westward a few weeks ago. He said he had never skimmed irons/side plates before and wasn't confident about doing it. We left it at that.
  10. Yes I want to remove material to get a smooth finish across the plate. I hear lapping gets the best finish on the plate rather than using a grinding machine. I was wondering does anyone know a workshop that can do lapping? Thanks.
  11. Does anyone know somewhere that can lap irons/side plates? There's a bit of side seal wear on the irons. I've searched on Google but no luck. Any help?
  12. Greetings!

Thanks. That my Nissan Silvia S15. Here's a better pic
  13. Greetings!

Thanks for the warm welcome everyone! I'm from county Clare. First questions I have is what tolerances do you use to access reusable engine parts? I was following this http://www.turborx7.com/rereplacement.htm Also is there anywhere in Ireland that has a machine for lapping Irons/side plates?
  14. Greetings!

Hello Everyone! I've been a member here for quite awhile, snooping around and gaining knowledge on rotarys. I always admired the rotary engine and about a year ago finally purchased a FD RX7. My interest is in drifting and I spent many months trawling classifies in both Ireland and UK for the right car. One finally came up in England which met a lot of my requirements so I went over to view it and brought it home with me. I brought it down to John @WCP for mapping and ended up with the following: Next it was on to Mondello Park for its first day out at JustJap Trackday. It's was awhole lot of fun to drive and a lot more work compared to my pervious 180sx. It just loves to rev! The morning sessions went without any issues but towards the end of the day it wasn't so good. It was breaking down on track and getting hard to start. A quick compression test didn't have good news. So back at base this had to happen Currently how the car sits 😔 At the moment I'm gathering parts for the rebuild. There are a few things I'm unsure of I'm hoping some of you guys will be able to help me out. 😀
