So Mark has been hard at it, I had to get rough second hand wings as they were the only ones available, he has been repairing the sections that are being kept and working on the shut lines to the best possible outcome given the choice of paint we are going with.

He has also gone OCD on the quarters both on the outside and on the inside :D

So a bit has happened the past couple of weeks, got the fuel support painted up, new braided lines, billet fuel rail fitted, fpr, 740cc rc developments injectors and the exhaust system is all mocked up, just needs to be welded fully and we are well on our way, few more jobs to do but getting there thankfully :) Shout out to Stone Motorsport for all their hard work :)

I was having a problem with the starter motor on my FD RX7 where it would only turn over at approx 150 RPM. The car would still start but could have been better. I knew the bushing in the nose of the starter was very much worn but decided an upgrade was better than a repair. It turns out that the internals of an RX8 starter motor will fit the "nose" of the RX7 Starter.

Here we see the original RX7 on the left. A 1.2 KW RX8 motor in the centre and a 2 KW 13 tooth RX8 motor on the right.

Now we can see how bad my bushing actually was!

The Motor simply unbolts. Be sure not to lose the little ball bearing on the end of the motor shaft.
